Safety Comes First

The Dog Den values the safety of all of our guests and staff, and we have a number of safety procedures in place to main this. Our doggy daycare facility has been established following the guidelines in the Animal Welfare Act 1999, Code of Welfare Dogs (October 2018), Temporary Housing of Companion Animals (October 2018), and the PIAA (Australia) Standards & Guidelines for Best Practice for doggy daycare centres and boarding. Our staff are trained, and have genuine love and passion for animals.
We use recall and distraction techniques often involving treats and clickers to control the group if needed.

All play areas and equipment are deep cleaned sanitised daily using a pet safe, biodegradable disinfectant that is used by many local council animal management departments.

The Dog Den doggy daycare has been created to allow our guests to play with their friends in small groups. There is also space for a quick snooze and relax after playtime.

How it works:

• Each day our guests are separated into our various supervised play areas. Each area is designed to suit various personalities, activity levels and temperaments. This is to ensure that your dog is in an environment that suits their individual needs. As your dog ages, grows and develops, we have then have the ability to switch play areas as they build their confidence or as their play habits change.
• Our play areas are designed to encourage socialisation and comfort, and are rotated to provide mental stimulation. This is to avoid the dogs from getting bored, which can cause them to be anxious, stressed and sometimes destructive.
• We provide a range of outdoor play equipment and sleeping platforms. As well as plenty of water to keep them hydrated. They are also secured by wooden fences and ventilated to help keep the air fresh and clean. There is plenty of natural light provided during the daylight hours.
• We have limited spaces each day to ensure your pet’s absolute safety and comfort.
• Our rubberised flooring is gentle on their joints and pads, and also allows us to easily sanitize the surfaces with pet-safe cleaning products throughout the day.
• All new guests are required to complete a meet and greet session to ensure they are a good fit for group play facility. Call our office or Contact Us to arrange a time.
• We accept puppies that are 16 weeks or older and once they have finished all their vaccinations plus a week to allow the vaccinations to be effective.
